86.5% favour elections in February: Survey
A recent survey shows that 86.5% of voters believe the national election should be held in February 2026. At the same time, 94.3% of respondents expressed interest in casting their vote. However, 56% said they had no understanding of the Proportional Representation (PR) system.
The findings were revealed on Sunday (September 21) at the launch of the first report of People’s Election Pulse Survey, Round–2, conducted by Innovation Consulting, during a roundtable discussion at The Daily Star Centre in Dhaka.
Md. Rubaiyat Sarwar, Managing Director of Innovation Consulting and Chief Coordinator of the survey, presented the results. Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam attended the event as the chief guest.
The survey covered 10,413 adult citizens across the country and analysed public opinion on the interim government’s performance, election-time environment, law and order, and electoral reforms.
