9 fire service units engaged in controlling Chawkbazar shoe factory fire

Nine fire service units are makinghectic efforts to douse the fire that erupted at a shoe factory at Chawkbazar inthe capital on Monday noon.

Rafi Al Faruq, officer at thecentral control room of the fire service, said, “The fire erupted Kamalbag in Swarighat area in Chawkbazar. On information, two units of Fire Service reachedthe spot at 1:00pm and started trying to douse the fire. Later, seven more unitsalso joined the efforts.”

The official, however, could notsay anything about how the fire erupted.
