AB Party welcomes Chief Adviser’s speech despite differing views
Despite some differences on final decisions or orders regarding the implementation of the July National Charter (constitutional reform), Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party) has welcomed the Chief Adviser’s speech.
In a statement to the media on Thursday, November13, Chairman Mojibur Rahman Monju and General Secretary Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad of AB Party said, “We support the Chief Adviser’s statement in the greater national interest. Regardless of individual opinions, since the government and Dr Muhammad Yunus have considered all aspects and issued directives on the same day regarding referendum and national election, proportional allocation of seats in the upper house, and inclusion of both agreement and dissent in ballot preparation, we believe this is a relatively acceptable solution.”
The statement added, “Overall, we see this announcement positively. From the start, we have maintained that as political parties have concluded sufficient arguments and discussions, there is now no alternative but for the government to give a solution and for the parties to accept it.”
Leaders expressed hope that all political parties, including BNP and Jammat, will avoid division, participate in elections in a fair, neutral, and peaceful environment, and lead the country towards stable democracy.
