AB Party's new chairman Manju

Mojibur Rahman Manju has been elected as the new chairman of Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party. He was previously the party's member secretary.

The announcement was made at the first national conference of the party at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on Saturday (January 11) afternoon. Election Commissioner Akhtarul Alam made the announcement.

Earlier, the day-long voting for the chairman's post was held on Friday. Out of a total of 2,806 voters, 1,668 votes were cast. Out of them, Manju was elected chairman for a three-year term with 1,400 votes. AFM Solaiman Chowdhury got 211 votes, while Lieutenant Colonel (retd) Didarul Alam got 33 votes.

Former joint member secretary Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad became the general secretary of AB Party unopposed.
