Abu Momtaz Saad Uddin Ahmed, additional secretary of the Public Safety Department, has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA), according to an official government notification. The appointment was announced in a circular issued on Wednesday (4 June), signed by Joint Secretary Abul Hayat Md Rafique. The notification stated that the decision has been made in the public interest and will take immediate effect. Abu Momtaz brings extensive experience in public administration to his new role at the BRTA, the key regulatory body overseeing road transport and vehicle safety in Bangladesh.

বাংলাদেশ সড়ক পরিবহন কর্তৃপক্ষের (বিআরটিএ) নতুন চেয়ারম্যান হিসেবে নিয়োগ পেয়েছেন জননিরাপত্তা বিভাগের অতিরিক্ত সচিব আবু মমতাজ সাদ উদ্দিন আহমেদ। বুধবার (৪ জুন) যুগ্ম সচিব আবুল হায়াত মো. রফিক স্বাক্ষরিত প্রজ্ঞাপনে এ তথ্য জানানো হয়।&nbsp; প্রজ্ঞাপনে বলা হয়, জননিরাপত্তা বিভাগের অতিরিক্ত সচিব আবু মমতাজ সাদ উদ্দিন আহমেদকে বিআরটিএর চেয়ারম্যান হিসেবে নিয়োগ দেওয়া হয়েছে। জনস্বার্থে জারি করা এ আদেশ অবিলম্বে কার্যকর হবে বলেও এতে উল্লেখ করা হয়।
