ACC deputy director suspended temporarily

Md. Ahsanul Kabir Palash, Deputy Director of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) headquarters, has been suspended temporarily on charges of negligence, misuse of authority, and aiding the approval of a housing project through forged documents.

The suspension was confirmed in an order signed by ACC Chairman Mohammad Abdul Momen on August 6. According to the order, in November 2023, Ahsanul Kabir Palash was assigned as the investigating officer for complaints concerning Rupayan Housing Estate Limited. However, he failed to submit the report within the stipulated time and did not seek an extension.

According to the Commission’s Employee Regulations, 2008, disciplinary action was decided against him. Later, in a meeting on July 16, the Commission decided to suspend him temporarily under Rule 43(1). During the suspension, he will receive his usual allowance. The order is effective from August 6.
