ACC files case against Kabir bin Anwar, 2 others

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against former Agriculture Minister Abdus Shahid and former Cabinet Secretary Kabir bin Anwar and his wife.

On Sunday, Deputy Assistant Director of the ACC Head Office Khairul Hasan filed a case against Kabir bin Anwar and his wife at the commission's Dhaka-1 office as the plaintiff. Another investigation officer has filed a case against Abdus Shahid.

The complaint states that illegal assets worth about Tk 3 crore have been found in the name of Kabir bin Anwar. His wife Taufiqa Ahmed has illegal assets worth Tk 4 crore. Information about suspicious transactions of Tk 23 crore has been found in 15 bank accounts of both of them.

The complaint states that illegal assets worth Tk 8 crore have been found against former Minister Abdus Shahid. He has made transactions of Tk 27 crore in 18 bank accounts.
