The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has imposed a travel ban and ordered the blocking of the National ID of Moazzem Hossain, former assistant personal secretary (APS) to Local Government Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhiuyan, amid serious corruption allegations.

The ACC confirmed the action on Saturday (May 24), stating, "Moazzem is under investigation for allegedly abusing his position and amassing hundreds of crores of taka through lobbying, tender manipulation, and other irregularities during his tenure."

Following a round of questioning last Thursday, the ACC deemed it necessary to restrict his travel and blocked his NID to prevent possible obstruction of the ongoing inquiry.

Moazzem Hossain came under increased scrutiny after multiple media reports surfaced linking him to large-scale corruption. In the wake of these allegations, Asif Mahmud’s office dismissed Moazzem from his APS role.

The ACC said further legal measures will follow based on the outcome of the investigation.
