ACC launches simultaneous drives at 36 LGED offices

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Tuesday launched coordinated drives at 36 offices of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), including its headquarters in Dhaka’s Agargaon, as well as various district and upazila offices.

ACC Deputy Director Akhtarul Islam confirmed to the media that the operations began around 10 a.m.

According to the ACC’s Public Relations Department, a team was scheduled to begin its inspection at the LGED headquarters at 11:30 a.m. More information about the findings will be disclosed after the drives are completed.

The operation comes a day after the ACC filed two separate cases against four LGED engineers and two contractors, accusing them of corruption and embezzlement in connection with two road development projects in Tangail’s Nagarpur upazila.
