The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has formally requested information on 38 officials and employees from Bangladeshi embassies in ten countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada, in connection with allegations of corruption.

The allegations against these officials include misuse of power, embezzlement, and causing financial losses to the government.

A letter from the ACC's Integrated District Office, Dhaka-1, was sent to the concerned embassies and high commissions on September 3.

The communication outlines ongoing investigations into various forms of irregularities and corruption involving ambassadors, heads of chancery or chief consular officers, ministry secretaries, and other officials working in Bangladeshi diplomatic missions in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Saudi Arabia, China, Dubai, Italy, Switzerland, and the Philippines.

The ACC has requested detailed information on these officials, including their current workplace, designation, permanent address, and current address, to be provided by September 10.

Additionally, the commission seeks information on their previous workplaces, branches they were responsible for, and their designations during the fiscal year 2016-17.
