ACC seeks Interpol red notice for Hasina, Joy

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has written to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam, requesting steps to secure an Interpol red notice for the arrest of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her son, Sajeeb Wazed Joy.

The move follows the issuance of an arrest warrant against Sheikh Hasina by a local court.

ACC Deputy Director and Public Relations Officer Md Akhtarul Islam confirmed the development on Thursday afternoon.

The letter, signed by ACC Assistant Director and Investigating Officer Afnan Jannat Keya, stated that Sheikh Hasina had fled abroad during the course of the investigation. Citing the need to ensure justice, the commission has urged law enforcement to trace her location, facilitate her return, and bring her under legal proceedings.
