ACC takes step to issue red notice to bring back Hasina

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has initiated steps to issue an Interpol red notice to bring back Sheikh Hasina, her family members, and other fugitive corrupt individuals, ACC Chairman Abdul Momen said on Tuesday.

He made the remarks while inaugurating a workshop for members of Reporters Against Corruption (RAC) on Tuesday, a journalists’ organization working closely with the ACC.

Chairman Momen stated that during the Awami League’s rule, several influential businessmen attempted to plunder the country through corruption. “The ACC is conducting investigations into these cases fearlessly and without bias,” he said. He also urged political parties to refrain from nominating individuals involved in corruption for elections.

When asked about the commission's stance on high-profile individuals, he replied, "The ACC makes no distinction between ordinary offenders and Sheikh Hasina or her family members. Everyone is treated equally under the law."
