Action will be taken against those responsible for Abdul Hamid’s departure: Home Affairs Adviser
Home Affairs Adviser Lt General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has stated that action will be taken against those responsible for the departure of former President Abdul Hamid from the country.
He said that an investigation committee has been formed to look into the matter. The committee will submit its report within three working days. Based on the findings, legal action will be taken against all those found responsible.
He made these comments in response to a question from journalists on Saturday (May 10) after visiting Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Jahangir Alam Chowdhury also mentioned that some of the individuals involved have already been suspended, while others have been attached (to different posts).
Regarding the airport visit, the adviser said, "I haven't traveled abroad since 2011, so I came to understand how the current immigration system works. I saw that the system has improved significantly. The government is working continuously for the benefit of the country and its people."
