Actress Shomi Kaiser arrested in murder case

Shomi Kaiser, former president of the E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) and an actress, has been arrested in connection with a murder case at the Uttara East Police Station during the anti-discrimination student movement in the capital. This information was revealed on Wednesday morning (April 9).

The actress was detained on Tuesday night from house number 53 on Road 6 in Sector 4 of Uttara.

Earlier, during the anti-discrimination student movement, on July 18, a businessman named Ishtiaq Mahmood was attempted to be murdered. A murder attempt case was filed on September 29 at the Uttara East Police Station in connection with the incident. Shomi Kaiser was arrested in that case. After her remand, she was sent to jail by a Dhaka court on November 9.

She was granted bail on December 10. Since then, the popular actress of the 1990s has been staying at her home.
