Adani Power Bangladesh has issued a final warning to the Power Development Board (PDB), stating that unpaid dues must be cleared by November 10, or electricity supply will be halted from November 11.

In a letter dated October 31, Vice Chairman Avinash Anurag said $496 million remains unpaid, including $262 million acknowledged by PDB as undisputed dues.

PDB has raised concerns over coal price disputes, which they say make Adani’s coal $10–12 per ton higher than other power plants.

Adani cited the 2017 Power Purchase Agreement, which allows supply suspension if dues are not cleared, and said it retains the right to capacity charges during any halt.

Earlier, Adani Chairman Gautam Adani had warned that partial payments still left $464 million unpaid, risking operations and financing.

Meanwhile, PDB is following directives from the government-appointed Power Purchase Review Committee, which flagged administrative inconsistencies in the Adani contract.

Adani has also urged PDB to renew the Letter of Credit issued via Bangladesh Krishi Bank, which expired on October 30; delay in renewal may be treated as a contract breach.
