Advisory Council approves govt service ordinance 2025

The Advisory Council has given its final approval to the Government Service (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 2025, during a meeting held on Thursday (July 2).

The meeting was chaired by Chief Adviser Dr Mohammad Yunus.

According to a press release issued by the Cabinet Division following the meeting, the ordinance was approved subject to the vetting of the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Department under the Law Ministry.

The press release, however, did not provide specific details regarding the changes or amendments included in the ordinance.

This development follows an earlier move on May 22, when the Advisory Council approved the draft of the Government Service (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025, also subject to legal scrutiny by the same department.
