Afroza Abbas appointed new chairman of Jatiya Mohila Sangstha

The government has appointed Afroza Abbas, President of the Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Mohila Dal, as the Chairman of the Jatiya Mohila Sangstha.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification, confirming her honorary appointment following a request from the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs on Tuesday.

According to the official gazette, the appointment will remain effective for a tenure of two years from her date of joining. However, the government reserves the right to terminate the appointment at any time before the expiry of the term if deemed necessary, and Afroza Abbas may also tender her resignation.

Afroza Abbas is the wife of Mirza Abbas, a member of the BNP National Standing Committee and Member of Parliament for the Dhaka-8 constituency. Mirza Abbas currently serves as the Political Advisor to the Prime Minister with the rank and status of a minister.
