Following the recovery of the body of missing Bangladeshi student Jamil Limon, US authorities have also recovered body parts of another missing Bangladeshi student, Nahida Sultana Brishti.

Brishti's brother, Zahid Hasan Pranta, confirmed that his sister is dead a few days after she went missing.

In a post on his social media account on Saturday (April 25), Pranta said, authorities in the United States have confirmed that the body parts found in a blood-stained condition had been identified as his sister through forensic analysis.

However, investigators have not yet confirmed whether her full remains will be recovered.

The development comes days after another Bangladeshi student, Jamil Limon, was found dead in a separate but related case. According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Limon’s dismembered remains were recovered from the Howard Frankland Bridge area in Tampa, Florida.

Concerns over Nahida’s safety had intensified following Limon’s killing, as both students went missing around the same time. Their deaths have triggered shock and grief within the Bangladeshi community in the United States.

Nahida, a graduate student in chemical engineering at the University of South Florida, had last been seen on April 16 at Limon’s residence in Tampa. She previously completed her undergraduate studies at Noakhali Science and Technology University.

Police have arrested Hisham Saleh Abugharbiah, a US citizen and Limon’s roommate, in connection with the case. Investigators say evidence, including biological samples linked to Nahida, was recovered from his home.

The motive behind the killings remains unclear, and authorities say the investigation into the double murder is ongoing.
