Former railway minister Nurul Islam Sujan has been arrested by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
He was arrested from Bangladesh Specialized Hospital at Shyamoli in the capital on Monday (September 16) evening.
Shahriar Kabir arrested
Shahriar Kabir, president of the advisory council of the Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee, has been arrested.
Tejgaon police arrested him from his Banani residence in the capital on Monday (September 16) night.
Fakhrul demands withdrawal of false cases

Drug godfathers should be brought under law: Home Adviser
Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury on Tuesday instructed the Directorate of Narcotics Control to detain drug godfathers and bring them under the law.
The adviser gave this instruction to the senior officers of the Directorate of Narcotics Control at Shegunbagicha in the capital.
Chattogram-China new shipping line opens
A shipping line on the Chattogram-China maritime route launched operation with the anchorage of a Chinese goods-carrying vessel at Chattogram port on Monday (September 16).
“The first ship on this route MV Kota Angun, carrying 552 containers from Port of Ningbo-Zhushan of China, anchored at at Chattogram port jetty-13 on Monday morning,” said Chittagong Port Authority Assistant Terminal Manager (Control) Rajib Chowdhury.
