Ahsan Habib Palash appointed new RAB DG

Ahsan Habib Palash has been appointed as the new Director General (DG) of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB). He was previously serving as DIG of Chattogram Range. This information was provided in an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday, March 16.

Simultaneously, several changes have been made in various important positions in the police force.

According to the new order, Sardar Nurul Amin has been made the chief of the Police Special Branch (SB). Mosleh Uddin Ahmed has been given the charge of chief of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Current CID chief Additional IGP Chibgat Ullah has been transferred to Police Headquarters.

Additionally, Hasib Aziz, who was serving as Commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police, has been made chief of the Armed Police Battalion. He has been succeeded by Hasan Md Shawkat Ali, who was serving as Additional Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.

On the other hand, SB DIG Moniruzzaman has been transferred to Chattogram Range.

In several other separate orders, two DIGs and five officers of the rank of Superintendent of Police have been given new responsibilities.

In one order, Police Headquarters DIG Ashrafur Rahman has been given the current charge of Additional IGP at the same workplace.

In another order, promoted Additional IGP G M Azizur Rahman has been moved from SB and made Principal of Bangladesh Police Academy.

Meanwhile, several officers of SP rank have also been transferred. The transfer order of DMP Additional Commissioner Mostak Sarkar as Superintendent of Police in Khagrachhari has been cancelled.

CID SP Morteza Ali Khan has been appointed as the new Superintendent of Police in Khagrachhari. He has been succeeded by Madaripur Superintendent of Police Ehteshamul Haque.

On the other hand, Magura SP Habibur Rahman has been transferred to Madaripur. DMP Additional Commissioner Molla Azad Hossain has been made the new SP of Magura.
