The air ambulance scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on Tuesday, December 8 to take BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia to London is no longer coming.

Although permission had been secured for the air ambulance to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 8am on Tuesday, December 8, a request has since been made to withdraw that permission.

The information was confirmed by an official of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh. He said that Germany-based FAI Aviation Group has formally applied, through its local coordinating agency, to withdraw its previously approved slot.

The official added, “We will forward the request for cancellation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for necessary action.”

However, SM Ragueeb Samad, executive director of Shahjalal International Airport, said that he has not yet received any message regarding the air ambulance not arriving.

Earlier, based on the operator’s primary application submitted on Sunday, permission had been granted for landing at 8am on Tuesday and departure at around 9pm the same night.
