Air Vice Marshal Mostafa Mahmud Siddiq appointed as CAAB chairman

Air Vice Marshal Md Mostafa Mahmud Siddiq has officially assumed the role of Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), replacing Air Vice Marshal Md Manjur Kabir Bhuiyan.


He took charge on Thursday (July 3) at the CAAB headquarters, where he was welcomed by officials from various departments.


The Ministry of Public Administration issued the appointment on Wednesday (July 2), placing him on deputation under the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.


His predecessor, Air Vice Marshal Manjur Kabir Bhuiyan, was removed from the post through a government order issued on June 26. No specific reason for the move was disclosed.


Air Vice Marshal Mostafa Mahmud Siddiq is a seasoned officer of the Bangladesh Air Force. Prior to this appointment, he served as the Air Officer Commanding at Base Bir Uttam AK Khandaker. A highly skilled fighter pilot and 'Category A' flying instructor, he has logged over 2,900 hours of flight time.


He joined the Air Force Academy on January 8, 1990, and was commissioned into the General Duties (Pilot) Branch of the Royal Malaysian Air Force on October 13, 1992. Throughout his distinguished career, he has held several key command roles, including Officer Commanding of the 11, 25, and 35 Squadrons.
