Airport security alert routine, no need for concern: State Minister
There is no other reason behind the alert issued at various installations, including airports, across the country, said Social Welfare State Minister Barrister Farzana Sharmin Putul. She said it is merely routine work.
She made the remarks while responding to journalists' questions at a views-exchange meeting at Mirpur Secondary Girls' School in Kushtia on Friday, August 7.
The State Minister said the BNP has no scope to be lenient towards the Awami League, given the extent of repression and torture the party endured under the Awami League regime and the sacrifices it had to make to oust them from power.
Responding to another question from journalists, she said the ousted government attempted to hold a press conference in India the day before yesterday. The protest lodged by the Foreign Ministry in response was unprecedented; no previous government had been able to make such a protest.
She further said there is no other reason behind the alert issued at airports and other installations across the country. It is merely routine work.
The views-exchange meeting, organised by Mirpur Upazila and Pourasabha BNP, was also addressed by Kushtia-1 MP Reza Ahmed Bachchu, reserved women's seat MP Farida Yasmin, Kushtia District Council Administrator Principal Sohrab Uddin, and BNP leader Barrister Ragib Rauf Chowdhury, among others.
