BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has said the Awami League, having fled the country after "destroying it," is now engaging in destructive activities that only make its future more uncertain.

Speaking to journalists in Chattogram’s Agrabad on Wednesday (September 24), the senior BNP leader said Awami League’s recent actions carry no political weight. “The party has already been defeated politically and escaped the country. What they are doing now are nothing but destructive moves,” he remarked.

Referring to the egg-throwing incident targeting NCP leader Akhtar Hossain abroad, Khasru said such episodes are not unusual in democratic societies. “Anyone can do it—those with support or those without. It’s neither a major issue nor difficult to carry out,” he said.

On security concerns, he added that embassies do not provide such protection, which remains the responsibility of the host country. However, he noted, the embassy’s intelligence unit should have been aware of the situation.
