AL proves why it’s banned by setting buses ablaze : Press Secretary

Press secretary to the Chief Adviser, Shafiqul Alam, has claimed that the Awami League are trying to create nationwide unrest ahead of November 13.

Speaking at the foundation stone ceremony of Kuliara High School in Cumilla's Chauddagram on Tuesday (November 11), Shafiqul Alam said "Awami League has proven why the party have been banned."

Describing these acts as activities of the banned Awami League, Shafiqul Alam said, "Seven buses have already been set on fire, including one incident in Demra where a suspect from Gopalganj was caught, and another in Mymensingh where a sleeping bus driver died in a blaze."

"Stressing the interim government's commitment to holding the national election in February, he said, "Elections will be held in the first week of February through a free, fair, and participatory process."

He also noted that major political parties have been in constructive talks with the Election Commission, with BNP declaring 237 candidates and Jamaat nominating candidates in various constituencies.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Jamal Hossain and other officials attended the event.
