AL will face consequences for any misdeeds: Home Adviser
Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that since the Awami League's activities are banned, they will not be allowed to carry out any unlawful actions under any circumstances.
He made this statement to the media after visiting the Mohammadpur Police Station in the capital on Saturday (August 2).
The Home Affairs Adviser said, "The Awami League is secretly continuing its activities. We have even observed the involvement of an army officer in this."
When asked about the steps taken to halt their activities, the adviser replied, "No matter who is involved, no one will be spared. Everyone will be held accountable under the law."
Regarding the secret training of the Awami League, he said, "This is a matter under investigation. The truth will come to light once the investigation is complete."
He further told the journalists, "You should publish the truth. When the truth is revealed, the public benefits and the law and order situation in the country improves."
When asked about any concerns regarding August 5, he said, "If Allah wills, there is no cause for concern. With the support and cooperation you all are providing, there is no reason to worry."
