Ali Akbar Khan made acting chief of CID
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ali Akbar Khan has been appointed as the acting chief of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police.
The appointment was made through a notification issued by the Police Headquarters on Monday.
Born on 21 September 1967 in Chandpur, Ali Akbar joined the Bangladesh Police in 1995 through the 15th BCS (Police) cadre.
During his career, he has served in several important units, including range police, Police Headquarters, and the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
As part of his professional development, he participated in various training programmes and workshops at home and abroad.
On 17 May, the government appointed CID chief and Additional Inspector General of police Mosleh Uddin Ahmed as the new commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
Since then, the post of CID chief had remained vacant.
