Ali Riaz appointed special assistant to Chief Adviser

Professor Ali Riaz, former joint vice-chairman of the National Unity Commission, has been appointed as special assistant to the Chief Adviser with adviser rank.

The Cabinet Division issued a notification on Thursday, November 13 regarding the appointment.

According to the notification signed by Cabinet Secretary Dr Sheikh Abdur Rashid, on the order of the President, the Honourable Chief Adviser of the interim government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh appointed Professor Ali Riaz as special assistant to the Chief Adviser on November 13, 2025.

The notification adds that while holding the special assistant position, he will be entitled to the rank, salary, allowances, and associated benefits of an adviser.
