Initiatives will be taken to solve all problems of expatriates, including stopping harassment at the airport, said Ariful Haque Choudhury, Minister for Labor and Employment and Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment.

Ariful Haque told this to reporters after arriving at Osmani International Airport from Dhaka on Thursday (February 19) afternoon.

Ariful Haque, who was elected a parliament member from Sylhet-4 constituency, came to his district for the first time today after taking charges of two important ministries of the new government.

At this time, Ariful Haque said that special vigilance will be kept on those who want to go abroad so that they do not fall victim to any kind of fraud while traveling. Necessary steps will be taken to identify the problems and solve them.

Expressing hope to move the country forward with everyone's cooperation, he said, 'We will take this country forward with everyone, not with hostility towards anyone. Solving the problems of expatriates will be given top priority.'

Highlighting the plan for the development of Sylhet, Ariful Haque said, 'When I came, I saw the service centers at Dhaka's (Hazrat Shahjalal) Airport which is not in our expatriate-dominated Sylhet. InshaAllah, we will work with everyone to fulfill the expectations of the expatriates and the people.'

Stating that the MPs have to start working on the development of own areas from now on, he said, 'I have a lot of work to do. But there is not much time. Five years will pass in a flash. So I have to start working from now.'

Ariful Haque said, 'The people of my constituency voted for me and sent me to parliament. Respecting that verdict, our leader Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has given me a place in the cabinet. This is a gift for the people of Sylhet.'

He said, 'Today is the first day of Ramadan in Sylhet. Today, I will visit the shrines of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) and Shahparan RA and spend the whole day with my mother. Tomorrow, I will go to my constituency.'

After arriving in Sylhet on a four-day visit, a large number of local BNP leaders and activists, including administration officials, welcomed Ariful Haque Choudhury at the airport.

When Minister Ariful Haque arrived directly at the Sylhet Circuit House from Osmani International Airport, he was welcomed with flowers by the local administration.
In addition, a police team provided him with a guard of honor at the Circuit House.

Minister Ariful Haque will participate in various programmes in Sylhet and Moulvibazar during this official visit until next Sunday.
