The government has instructed all madrasas across the country to ensure daily physical training (PT) sessions and sports activities. Additionally, madrasas without a physical education teacher have been asked to temporarily assign a suitable teacher from the existing staff and take steps to fill the vacant posts quickly.

The directives were issued in a letter from the Madrasa Education Directorate on Monday, July 6.

The letter stated that the current government is committed to expanding sports activities at the grassroots level and in educational institutions. Daily PT sessions and sports activities are essential for nurturing the youth and building a prosperous Bangladesh based on the strength of its young generation.

To achieve this goal, assistant teachers of physical education in all madrasas under the directorate have been instructed to organise daily PT sessions and sports activities to ensure the spontaneous participation of students.

The letter also said that in madrasas where the post of assistant teacher (physical education) is vacant, the head of the institution will temporarily assign a suitable teacher with expertise in sports from among the existing staff. Steps should also be taken to fill the vacant posts according to regulations.
