The beloved character from the Chorki series 'Myself Allen Swapan' has now come to life in a comic book. Titled 'Chronicles of Allen Swapan', the comic was launched at the Ekushey Book Fair and is available at the Dhaka Comics stall (Stall No. 949-950).

On Tuesday (February 25), Chorki announced in a press release that the book's unveiling ceremony was graced by Nasir Uddin Khan, who portrayed Allen Swapan, along with Chorki’s CEO Redoan Rony, Dhaka Comics editor and publisher Mehedi Haque, and several others.

Although the comic is based on the 'Chronicles of Allen Swapan' series, it also includes five original stories— 'Skondhokata, 'Dom', 'Manosankhya', 'Fand', and 'Peyaju'.

'Skondhokata' was written by Zahidul Haque Apu. 'Dom', 'Manosankhya', and 'Fand' were written by Sheikh Korashani. 'Peyaju' was co-written by Zahidul Haque Apu and Sheikh Korashani.

The illustrations were done by four young artists: Mehedi Haque (Dom), Kazi Maruf (Skondhokata), Jabir Mahmud Ratin (Manosankhya), Abdullah Al Zunaed (Peyaju), and Meherab Siddiqui Sabit (Fand).

Chorki’s CEO, Redoan Rony, expressed his excitement about the comic adaptation, stating, “It’s a pleasure to present our work to readers in a new format. I hope this character will gain as much popularity in comics as it has on screen.”

Dhaka Comics editor and publisher, Mehedi Haque, highlighted the significance of the project, saying, “To the best of our knowledge, this is the first instance in Bangladesh where an OTT series has been adapted into a comic. This was made possible by the incredible work of four talented illustrators.”

Originally released in April 2023, Myself Allen Swapan is a spin-off of the Chorki series Syndicate. The series follows the journey of a yaba (methamphetamine) kingpin from Chattogram and his rise as the mastermind behind a money laundering network. With its use of the regional Chattogram dialect and a powerful performance by Nasir Uddin Khan, the character quickly became a fan favorite.
