Ambulance, abandoned bus torched in Sylhet
Miscreants torched a parked ambulance and an abandoned bus in two seperate location in Sylhet.
The incidents took place between Saturday night (November 15) and early Sunday (November 16), when the arsonists set fire to the ambulance at Shahid Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital parking area and the Hridoy Paribahan bus at Kumargaon Bus Stand.
The ambulance was completely destroyed, while the bus sustained damage.
CCTV footage showed five youths arriving on motorcycles, with two setting the ambulance on fire before fleeing.
According to locals, firefighters controlled the fire, but the ambulance was fully burnt. One hour later, a similar incident occurred at Kumargaon Bus Stand.
Dr. Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury, the hospital’s resident medical officer, said that a group of youths suddenly set the ambulance on fire and fled, leaving it completely destroyed.
Shah Mobashhir, officer-in-charge (OC) of Jalalabad Police Station, said that police rushed to the scene after receiving information and helped to control the fire. “The matter is under investigation,” he added.
