Amir Hossain Amu land in jail after remand
Awami League advisory council member and former minister, Amir Hossain Amu, was sent to jail on Tuesday following the completion of his remand.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sharifur Rahman rejected Amu’s bail plea after a hearing and ordered him to be sent to jail.
Amu was presented before the court after a six-day remand by the investigating officer, Detective Branch (DB) Inspector Jahangir Arif.
The former minister was placed on a six-day remand on November 7, following his arrest by DB on November 6 from Dhaka’s Dhanmondi area.
The case is in connection with the murder of businessman Abdul Wadud in Dhaka’s New Market area.
