Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Water Resources in the newly formed government of 2026.

Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee won this election from Lakshmipur-3 constituency by getting 133,765 votes.

He has graduated with a bachelor's degree (honors) and a master's degree from the Department of Sociology, Dhaka University.

He is currently the Joint Secretary General of BNP. He was associated with Chhatra Dal from the beginning of his political career and was an elected member of the Dhaka University Students' Union (DUCSU). He played a leading role in the anti-dictatorship movement of the 1990s.
