Angry passengers beat up staffs, vandalise chairs at Rajshahi Railway Station

As per the pre-announced program of the Railway Running Staff and Kalyan Sramik Union, no trains are leaving Rajshahi station for their destinations. The Chilahati-bound Titumir Express at 6:20 am, the Khulna-bound Sagardari Express at 6:30 am, the Dhaka-bound Banalata Express at 7:40 am and the Dhaka-bound Silk City train at 7:40 am did not leave.

The passengers of these trains, who arrived in the morning and saw the trains were not operational, were angry and vandalized the station chairs. They also beat up two staff.

The passengers said that they were suffering because the trains were were not operational without prior notice after selling tickets. The aggrieved passengers also demanded punishment from the railway authorities for such senseless behavior.

The railway authorities said that they are contacting higher authorities to normalize the train movement.
