Another ACC deputy director suspended
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Deputy Director Kamlesh Mondal has been suspended. Earlier, an officer of the same rank, Md. Ahsanul Kabir Palash, was also suspended.
An order signed by ACC Chairman Dr. Mohammad Abdul Momen stated that this action has been taken against Kamlesh Mondal for not submitting the investigation report on time.
Sources said that during his duty, he was given the responsibility of investigating allegations of corruption and contracting against PD and Additional Chief Engineer Akhtaruzzaman of Dhaka Water Supply Network Improvement Project of Dhaka WASA and some others. However, he did not submit the report within the time limit from December 4, 2022 to April 10, 2025 and did not apply for an extension of time.
In view of this, a decision was taken to suspend him temporarily in the commission meeting on July 10 under Rule 43(1) of the Employees Rules, 2008. Although the notification was issued on August 6, he was effectively dismissed from July 17.
The order states that he will receive food allowance as per the prevailing rules while on suspension.
