Another accused arrested in Lawyer Saiful's murder case

Police have arrested another accused, Ripon Das (27), in connection with the murder of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif in Chattogram.

Ripon, the son of Mridul Das, resident of Kotwali Police Station's Haresh Chandra Munsef Lane, was apprehended on Thursday night (December 5) from Anwara Upazila.

Kazi Tarek Aziz, additional deputy commissioner (Media) at Chattogram City Police, confirmed this.

He said, "Ripon was arrested based on secret information. He was identified from video footage, where he was seen carrying a 'boti' while wearing a blue shirt, jeans, and a red helmet during the murder."

Earlier that day, Chandan Das, prime accused of the murder, was arrested from Bhairab, Kishoreganj, for his involvement in the crime.

According to police, Chandan, wearing an ash-colored helmet, orange t-shirt, and black pants, attacked Saiful Islam with a sword.
