Another clash at Geneva Camp leaves one dead
Another violent clash erupted between two rival drug dealer groups fighting for control at Geneva Camp in capital's Mohammadpur. The incident resulted in the death of a teenager named Shah Alam.
The clash took place on Monday afternoon (August 11), with locals reporting sounds of gunfire and cocktail explosions during the violence.
Jewel Rana, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Detective) of DMP’s Mohammadpur Zone, said, “Drug dealers are battling to keep their control. Although they are frequently arrested, they often secure bail and return to reclaim their business, causing these clashes. Operations against them will continue, and more arrests will be carried out soon.”
According to local residents, top drug dealers have been engaged in fierce battles for control of spots in Geneva Camp for several days. The sounds of explosions and gunfire have terrified the local community.
Police sources said that to control the situation, a joint operation led by the army has been decided.
