Another dengue death in Khulna, 43 hospitalised in 24 hours

Another person has died of dengue in Khulna division. During the same period, 43 new dengue patients were admitted to various government hospitals in the division.

The information was provided in the dengue situation report of the Divisional Health Director's office on Monday (July 20).

Khulna Divisional Health Director Dr Sheikh Md Mosharraf Hossain said a dengue patient undergoing treatment at Khulna Medical College Hospital died in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of seven people have died of dengue in the division from January 1 to July 20 this year.

According to health department data, a total of 1,518 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals in Khulna division so far this year. Of them, 1,310 have recovered and returned home. Currently, 177 patients are undergoing treatment in various government hospitals in the division. Additionally, 24 patients have been referred to other hospitals for advanced treatment.

Among the new admissions in the last 24 hours, Bagerhat recorded the highest with 15 patients, Khulna district saw 11, Khulna Medical College Hospital admitted 7, Magura and Narail recorded 3 each, and Jashore and Jhenaidah saw 2 each.

The health department has urged people to destroy mosquito breeding grounds, keep homes and surroundings clean, and seek medical advice immediately if fever develops.
