State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Ishraque Hossain has warned that any disrespect towards freedom fighters will lead to another mass uprising, through which Razakars will be sent to Pakistan.

"Those who did not want Bangladesh in 1971, who were against Bangladesh, who raped mothers and sisters, who roamed from village to village with the occupation forces to kill freedom fighters—today we see the resurgence of their party," he said.

"A party is trying to pocket the July uprising and exploit it. If anyone disrespected freedom fighters, another mass uprising will take place. Through that uprising, Razakars will be sent to Pakistan," he warned.

The state minister made the remarks during a visit to the Bir Sreshtho Ruhul Amin Memorial Museum and a views-exchange meeting with freedom fighters at Nandiapra in Sonaimuri upazila, Noakhali, on Wednesday afternoon, June 3.

"The last 17 years saw Bangladesh being turned into a slave of a neighbouring country and the country was plundered. The July mass uprising took place to free the country from that situation. The children of freedom fighters played a crucial role in that uprising. Therefore, no one has the right to disrespect freedom fighters," he said.

Noakhali Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Shafiqul Islam, BNP Chairperson's Adviser and Supreme Court Bar Association President and Noakhali-1 MP Barrister A M Mahbub Uddin Khokon, along with local administration officials, freedom fighters and upazila BNP leaders, were present at the meeting.
