The leaders of the ongoing anti-quota movement have rejected the government’s offer to hold talks.

“The government has agreed to hold talks with the protesting students. But we are not interested to hold talks with the killers of our brothers,” said Hasnat Abdullah, a coordinator of the ongoing anti-quota movement that has already claimed six lives in last two days.

He announced this through a Facebook post at 3:15pm on Thursday (July 18), saying, “No discussion stepping on the blood.”

Earlier, Law Minister Anisul Haque on Wednesday told the media that he and Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Nowfel have been asked to do the job.

Sarjis Alam, another coordinator of the movement, said, “On the one side, there are bullets and dead bodies and on the other side the offer of a dialogue. How can there be a dialogue stepping over the blood of my brother?”
