Any violations during polls will be strictly monitored: CEC
Chief Election Commissioner A M M Nasir Uddin has assured that any irregularities or complaints during Thursday's election will be addressed through legal procedures, and violations will be strictly monitored.
Speaking at a briefing with international observers and media at Hotel InterContinental in Dhaka, the CEC said the commission has taken all necessary measures to ensure transparency, participation, and public confidence.
Nasir Uddin outlined that to ensure transparency, over 330 international observers from 45 countries and organisations, including nearly 220 from the European Union, along with 160 international journalists, and more than 45,000 domestic monitors and 60,000 journalists, will oversee the election.
The CEC emphasised that full security arrangements have been made in coordination with law enforcement and the government. He reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to a peaceful, participatory, and credible election, noting that professional oversight by media and observers will strengthen electoral transparency and democratic confidence.
