Argentina fan dies after watching WC final despite snake bite

An Argentina fan died in Rangpur's Mithapukur after continuing to watch the World Cup final instead of seeking immediate treatment following a snake bite.

Habibur Rahman (60) from Abdullahpur village in the upazila was bitten by a snake on his way to watch the final on a big screen on Sunday (July 19) night . Local sources said he ignored the bite and continued watching the match.

About an hour later, when his physical condition deteriorated, he informed those around him that he had been bitten by a snake. He was rushed to Rangpur Medical College Hospital, where he was given antivenom and other necessary treatment, but could not be saved.

The deceased's nephew, Jillur Rahman, said Habibur Rahman's death occurred because he did not seek immediate medical attention after the snake bite. He was a supporter of the Argentina football team.
