Argentina fan found dead after returning from WC match, had row with wife

Police have recovered the body of Sumon Sardar (30), a van driver, from his home in Bheramara upazila, Kushtia. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of death.

The body was recovered on Monday (July 20) morning from his house in the Sholdaga area of Bahirchar Union.

Sumon Sardar was the son of Abzal Sardar of the area. He was a van driver by profession and a supporter of the Argentina football team.

According to police and local sources, Sumon watched the World Cup final match with friends on Sunday night. After returning home, an altercation reportedly took place with his wife, Jeni Khatun, over a family matter. On Monday morning, family members found him unconscious in the room. Police were alerted and recovered the body.

The body has been sent to the morgue of Kushtia General Hospital for autopsy.

Bheramara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jaedur Rahman said the exact cause of Sumon's death has not yet been confirmed. Details will be available after the autopsy report and investigation.
