A football supporter in Patuakhali has drawn widespread attention after fulfilling a dramatic social media promise linked to Brazil’s World Cup victory over Haiti.
Kazi Rafi, a devoted Argentina supporter from Kajipara area of Patuakhali town, shaved his head publicly after Brazil defeated Haiti, honouring a pledge he made during a Facebook live session.
On Friday (June 19), Rafi announced on social media that he would shave his head if Brazil won their next match. When Brazil secured a win on Saturday (June 20), local supporters gathered outside his residence, prompting him to take the matter to Jhawbon area of the town.
In a festive and emotionally charged atmosphere, Rafi’s head was shaved in the presence of Brazil supporters, with many recording the moment on mobile phones. The video later went viral on social media, sparking widespread discussion.
After the act, Rafi said he stood by his word, adding that he had fulfilled the promise he made publicly.
