Argentine delegation to watch Messi's game at DU

Argentine travel writer and content creator Dan Lande has flown from the country to witness the craze of Bangladeshi fans for Argentina and Lionel Messi surrounding the World Cup. Lande and his team are scheduled to enjoy the match between Argentina and Austria at the Haji Muhammad Muhsin Hall of Dhaka University on Monday night. It is reported that Argentine Ambassador to Bangladesh Marcelo Carlos Sessa will be present with them at the time.

Dan Lande is known as Argentina's popular travel writer, content creator and cultural ambassador, who is also known as Rulo. He and his team arrived in Dhaka last Sunday morning and are scheduled to stay in Bangladesh until June 29.

During the visit, Lande and his team will watch Argentina's games on the big screen on June 22 and 28 with Bangladeshi fans. Among them, it is known that they will be present at the Muhsin Hall ground tonight to watch the Argentina-Austria match held in Dallas, USA.

Meanwhile, the DU Argentina Unity Council is organizing a flash mob at the foot of the Raju statue on the occasion of Lionel Messi's 39th birthday at 2 pm on June 24, where the Argentine delegation is also expected to be present.

The Argentine Embassy in Dhaka said that the visit aims to express the gratitude of the Argentine people to the football fans of Bangladesh and to further strengthen the existing friendship and cultural relations between the two countries. During the visit, the delegation plans to spend time with football fans in different parts of the country including Dhaka, learn about the excitement of Bangladeshis around the World Cup, and learn about the socio-cultural reality of the country.

The embassy's press release said that Dan Lande is accompanied by Argentine creative professionals Manuel Javier Escabra Ramon, Martin de Escalada, Martina Joye Gondel and Santiago Conde.

According to the itinerary, Lande and his team are scheduled to visit Old Dhaka's Oligoli, Dhaka University area, Haji Muhammad Muhsin Hall, Aminbazar and various places in Munshiganj. At these places, they will interact with football fans and spend time with locals. They are also scheduled to participate in various programs organized to mark Lionel Messi's birthday.

Incidentally, Dan Lande became known in Bangladesh during the 2022 World Cup. At that time, he campaigned on social media to express Argentine support for the Bangladesh cricket team, which added a new dimension to the relationship and friendship between the people of the two countries.
