Armed forces are a symbol of the Nation’s trust: Tarique Rahman

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has said that the strong and active role of the Bangladesh Armed Forces has made the institution a symbol of public trust.

In a message marking Armed Forces Day 2025 on Friday (November 21), he extended greetings to all members of the Army, Navy and Air Force and wished for their welfare and continued progress.

He praised the Armed Forces as a proud national institution built on courage, heroism and disciplined commitment, noting that their contribution during the Liberation War remains a shining chapter in history.

He paid tribute to the martyred members of the Armed Forces, including the seven Bir Sreshtho.

Tarique Rahman highlighted that during natural disasters and national emergencies, the Armed Forces have consistently played a decisive role, strengthening people’s confidence in them.

He expressed hope that this role will continue in the future.

He also said that late President Ziaur Rahman laid the foundation for building a modern, professional, and technology-driven Armed Forces, a process further advanced under the leadership of Khaleda Zia.

He wished success for all programmes marking Armed Forces Day.
