Army Chief off to Malaysia on official visit

Chief of Army Staff General Waker-uz-Zaman left Dhaka on Monday for a four-day official visit to Malaysia.

According to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army Chief will attend a high-level conference in Kuala Lumpur, jointly organized by the United States Indo-Pacific Command and the Malaysian Armed Forces.

Army chiefs from across the Indo-Pacific region are expected to participate in the event, which will focus on strengthening military cooperation and friendship, exchanging views on shared challenges, and discussing coordinated responses to regional crises.

The visit is anticipated to further deepen ties between the Bangladesh Army and armed forces of Indo-Pacific nations, while also expanding avenues for mutual collaboration.

General Waker-uz-Zaman is scheduled to return to Bangladesh on September 27, 2025.
