Army Chief returns home after IPSCC conference

Chief of Army Staff General Waker-uz-Zaman returned home Friday night (September 26) following the Indo-Pacific Army Chiefs Conference (IPSCC) held in Malaysia from September 23 to 26.

The conference brought together army chiefs from the Indo-Pacific region to discuss cooperation and coordinated measures to address regional challenges.

Waker-uz-Zaman emphasised partnership and cooperation, reaffirming the Bangladesh Army’s commitment to humanitarian values, professionalism, and regional peace.

During the visit, he held courtesy meetings with the Commanding General of the U.S. Army Pacific, Ronald Patrick Clark, and Malaysian Army Chief General Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Mohammad Hafizuddin Haji Jantan.

Discussions focused on Bangladesh Army modernisation, capacity building, professional development, training, defense technology transfer, Rohingya repatriation, and regional security cooperation.

The Army Chief had departed for Malaysia on September 22 on an official visit.
