Army Chief returns home after Malaysia visit

Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman returned to the country on Wednesday following an official visit to Malaysia, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Thursday (April 23).

According to ISPR, the army chief visited Malaysia on April 19 as a representative of the Prime Minister and Defence Minister Tarique Rahman.

During the visit in Kuala Lumpur, he attended the Defence Services Asia (DSA) and National Security Asia (NATSEC-2026) exhibition, where he observed modern defence systems, electronic warfare technologies, and security equipment.

He also participated in the 8th Putrajaya Forum titled “Asian Security in Emerging Technologies,” which focused on regional and technological security challenges.

The statement said the army chief held courtesy meetings with Malaysian defence officials and discussed potential areas of defence cooperation, joint initiatives, and training collaboration between the two countries.
